Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists-Douala Chapter Commemorates 
Marcus Garvey's Birthday 




Sunday August 16th, 2015, the eve of international commemorations to mark the birth of Marcus Garvey on the 17th of August, saw members of the Douala Branch of the CAMEROON ASSOCIATION OF ENGLISH SPEAKING JOURNALISTS (CAMASEJ-D) meet to also recognize the value of excellence exhibited in the legacy of the late Pan-African and Publisher. With the Red, Black and Green,"Universal African Flag" hung, the meetings discourse went forward with every mind present committed to ‪#‎Raising‬ Standards and offering suggestion to ensure the branch maintain the inspiration it had gathered in setting out with a new mentality of demonstrating excellence in Cameroon. The meeting commenced with prayer and reflections on the state of Africans in relation to an understanding of their past legacy. The informal gathering ended with an appraisal of the life of Marcus Garvey given by Minister Nkanwi Fokwa Ambe, who also explained significance of the RBG flag before closing. Members took the opportunity to grab photos in front of the emblem of African unity in demonstration of their accepted path on to greater awakening in service to humanity.
